This policy explains how JANMANDI VENTURES PRIVATE LIMITED (“Mandi Bhai”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use mandibhai.com or our services. We process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable Indian law.
Who we are
Mandi Bhai operates a business-to-business platform that connects wholesale traders in agricultural produce markets with retail shops in the surrounding area. Our registered office is at B-223, Gf, Block B, Lohia Nagar, Ghaziabad, Ghaziabad 201001, India. For the purposes of the DPDP Act, we are the Data Fiduciary for the data described below.
What we collect
- Business and contact details — the name of your shop or firm, your name, phone number, email address, delivery address and, where required for tax purposes, your GSTIN.
- Transaction data — orders placed or received, quantities, rates, delivery status and payment status.
- Technical data — IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, collected through our servers and analytics.
- Communications — messages, call records and support requests exchanged with us.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Our services are for registered businesses only.
Why we use it
- To create and manage your account, and verify that you operate a genuine business.
- To place, route, fulfil and deliver orders between retailers and wholesalers.
- To process payments and issue invoices and tax documents.
- To provide customer support and resolve disputes.
- To improve our service, and to detect fraud and misuse.
- To send service messages about your orders, and — only with your consent — updates about the platform.
Our legal basis
We process personal data with your consent, or for the legitimate uses permitted under Section 7 of the DPDP Act, including performing a contract you have entered into with us and complying with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time using the contact details below; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only as far as is needed to run the service:
- The other party to your order. A wholesaler receives the ordering shop's name, delivery address and contact number so the order can be packed and delivered, and vice versa.
- Delivery partners, who receive the pickup and drop details for that order.
- Service providers — hosting, payments, communications and analytics — who process data on our instructions under contract.
- Authorities, where disclosure is required by law or by a valid legal request.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only for as long as required to meet legal, tax, accounting or dispute-resolution obligations. Financial records are retained for the period required under Indian tax law. When data is no longer needed for any of these purposes, it is erased.
How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS. We apply access controls, encryption in transit and internal limits on who can view personal data. No system is completely secure, but if a personal data breach occurs we will notify the Data Protection Board and affected users as the DPDP Act requires.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may ask us to:
- confirm what personal data we hold about you and how it is processed;
- correct or complete data that is inaccurate or out of date;
- erase data that is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf; and
- have a grievance addressed by us before approaching the Data Protection Board.
We respond to requests within the timelines set by law.
